Title: Agoraphobic Finally Feels Comfortable in Public! |
![]() |
![]() Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder that often develops after one or more panic attacks. Symptoms include fear and avoidance of places and situations that might cause feelings of panic, entrapment, helplessness, or embarrassment. It has taken many years of therapy for Jennifer Chapelle to even think about going outside with just a few people. She has never been to a concert or a ball game or even her local farmers market due to the amount of people and possible interactions with others. Her therapist recently challenged her to try to face her fears and Jennifer is finally summoning the courage to conquer her Agoraphobia. Jennifer woke up and was feeling confident. She took a shower and got ready to go outside. While getting ready she turned on the TV. The Governor of her state was on the local news issuing a stay at home order due to Covid-19. She almost made it into public before she was forced to stay home. Platty’s Editors Note: I’m not a big fan of making jokes about Agoraphobia as they never seem to go anywhere! |
